Clent History Society is a society of local residents interested in exploring the history of the village of Clent and that of other towns and industries in the local area.
As one of the largest societies in the village, Clent History Society are involved in a diverse range of activities. This includes active research into the village history and the continued record keeping of changes in the village for future generations.
Clent History Society meet four times a year at Clent Parish Hall where guest speakers talk on a range of local history subjects.
Clent History Society was founded in 1985 by John Partington who remained Chairman until 2007 when Paul Timmins took the Chair. On his retirement from the post of Headmaster of the village school in 1985, John at last had time to achieve his long held ambition that Clent should have its own History Society and it has flourished ever since.
